Beijing Key Laboratory test base of sponge city is located in Beijing Economic Development Zone

On May 17, 2019, the academic exchange of Beijing Key Laboratory of urban water cycle and sponge City Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Key Laboratory") and the unveiling ceremony of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone test base were held in Chaolin building, Yizhuang. Under the witness of representatives of five construction units of the laboratory, Professor Xu zongxue, director of the key laboratory, and director Zhang Jun of the development zone jointly unveiled the base, marking that the test base of the key laboratory was officially listed in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone.

After the unveiling ceremony, director Zhang Jun introduced the construction of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, as well as the achievements of the Development Zone in urban water saving, renewable water use, water quality improvement, biodiversity protection and urban waterlogging control, and expressed the hope that the construction of the pilot base could better realize the combination of production, learning and research.

Chairman Pan Xiaojun, as the representative of Laboratory Co construction unit, expressed his gratitude to Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone for the support of laboratory construction, and focused on the role of key laboratories in scientific research. At the same time, he said that he would provide greater support and condition guarantee for the development of key laboratories in combination with the construction task of sponge City Industrial Innovation Center undertaken by sponge Research Institute.

On behalf of the laboratory construction unit, vice president pan Chengzhong expressed his gratitude to the leaders for their concern and support for the development of the laboratory, introduced the faculty and development of the Water Science Research Institute, hoped to carry out the docking work on the project based on the construction of the experimental base, and said that the Institute would, as always, provide good support conditions for the construction of the laboratory, and provide key experiments in Beijing We are striving to build our laboratory into a national key laboratory.

In the aspect of urban water cycle and sponge city construction, the Development Zone started early and planned scientifically, which has become a national benchmark, which is also an important basis for the key laboratory test base to be located in the development zone. The key laboratory will establish a long-term comprehensive monitoring system based on the water cycle and sponge city construction project in the Development Zone, refine and summarize the typical and experience, test the latest research results in the development zone first, deeply promote the experience of the combination of production, learning and research, and jointly develop industry standards based on the research projects and results, leading the high-level construction of the national urban water cycle and sponge city Set.
