These are all the problems facing the water science researchers and practitioners in the capital.



  

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China just concluded put forward the requirements for the construction of Ecological Civilization: "we must adhere to the principle of giving priority to conservation, protection and natural recovery, and form a spatial pattern, industrial structure, mode of production and way of life for resource conservation and environmental protection, as well as a peaceful, harmonious and beautiful nature." Liu Changming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former dean of the Institute of water science of Beijing Normal University, made a special speech on "lid and some issues on urban water ecological maintenance". He pointed out that the hydrological foundation of sponge city construction needs to be strengthened, and the research on the mechanism, model and application of urban storm flood and runoff formation and transformation needs to be strengthened.

  



Xu zongxue, vice president of Water Science Research Institute of Beijing Normal University and director of Beijing Key Laboratory of urban water cycle and sponge city technology, delivered a keynote speech from urban rainstorm and flood simulation to river and lake health evaluation: Taking Beijing as an example. He pointed out that urban rainstorm and flood simulation is one of the basic work of sponge city construction, which provides a good opportunity for hydrological science, and urban river and lake health is the basis for the evaluation of sponge city construction.

  



Pan Xiaojun made a special speech on "gathering industry advantage resources and building sponge city together". Liu Shukun, former chief engineer of Institute of hydraulics, China Academy of water resources and hydropower, made a special speech on my understanding of sponge city construction. Huang Guoru, professor and doctoral director of School of civil engineering and transportation, South China University of technology, made a special speech on the construction of urban rain flood hydrodynamic coupling model and its rain peak response. The speech proposed that for the new urban area in the design and planning stage, the local rainfall pattern should be analyzed in detail before the design and planning, and the appropriate rain peak coefficient should be selected according to the importance level of the city; for the old urban area, if the urban waterlogging is to be controlled, measures should be taken to control the pipe full rate before the rain peak, such as sponge city related facilities.

  


Zhang Shuhan, deputy chief engineer of Beijing Water Science and Technology Research Institute, made a special speech on "sponge city construction and appropriate restoration of river base flow".
